CCLA Corporate Mental Health Benchmark – Global 100+ Webinar

Tuesday 10 October

Zoom

The CCLA Corporate Mental Health Benchmark – Global 100+ aims to evaluate listed companies on the extent to which they provide the conditions for mental health at work to thrive.

On 10th October 2023, we will publish the second iteration of the global benchmark. To mark the occasion, we will be hosting two webinars, at 09:00 and 16:00 BST (to accommodate various time zones). We would be delighted if you could join us for the launch.

The event will include a presentation on the 2023 benchmark findings by CCLA and Chronos Sustainability, and a short discussion by company representatives on how the benchmark can be used to strengthen management systems from within.

Background While there remain significant challenges in assessing and comparing companies on a topic as complex as mental health, this benchmark is designed as a tool for investors to drive corporate disclosure and progress on workplace mental health.

The economic case for investment in mental health at work is strong. An estimated 12 billion working days are lost globally each year to depression and anxiety alone, at an annual cost of US$1 trillion in lost productivity. Meanwhile, for every US$1 invested in scaled-up treatment for depression and anxiety in the workplace, there is a US$4 return in better health and productivity.1

With the support of Chronos Sustainability, and an Expert Advisory Panel including Lord Dennis Stevenson CBE; Paul Farmer CBE, Age UK; Dr Shekhar Saxena, Harvard T H Chan School of Public Health; Dr Junko Umihara, Showa Women’s University; Dr Richard Caddis, BT; and Remi Fernandez, United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI), CCLA has built and refined a set of 27 assessment criteria.

In June this year, we used these criteria to evaluate and score 110 of the world’s largest listed companies on their public disclosures. On 10th October, the 2023 Corporate Mental Health Benchmark – Global 100+ will be launched. We hope you will join us on the day.
