We view climate change as the largest threat to our planet, ecosystems and communities. If unmitigated, it will lead to increased erratic weather patterns, higher sea levels, biodiversity collapse and unprecedented mass migration. Consequently, it is a material threat to medium and long-term shareholder value.
As a systemic threat that climate change poses to our society, climate risk is a material consideration for many of our investments. This is a critical issue for investors and we have long supported the effort to limit global temperatures to below 1.5 degrees.
We have committed to seek to achieve net-zero emissions for our listed equity investments under management no later than 2050.
