Unlock real-world experience and professional growth
Here’s what you can expect when you join our team:
- Real-World Experience: Immerse yourself in challenging projects that ignite creativity and innovation. You’ll gain valuable insights and hands-on experience, getting a taste of what it’s like to work in the industry.
- Development and Mentorship: Our commitment to your growth extends beyond the projects. You’ll receive mentorship and guidance as you hone your strengths, refine your skills, and build a solid foundation for your future success.
- London Office Engagement: To maximise your experience, you’ll be working full-time from our vibrant London office. Collaborate with colleagues, attend meetings and workshops, and engage in networking opportunities. Your presence here ensures you’ll be part of our dynamic team.
We have projects available in teams across the business, including IT, HR, Investments, Marketing, and Client Relationships. The projects will last up to 12 weeks, with most being 4-8 weeks between June and September. This internship offers a rate above the London Living Wage and a weekly contribution towards travel costs. You will attend our office in the City of London, near Cannon Street, 5 days per week and will be supported by a supervisor/buddy as well as the wider team that you are placed with.
What skills do you need? We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate attention to detail, competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), good written communication skills, creativity, and a passion for this opportunity.
Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I): At CCLA, ED&I is an integral part of our culture and day-to-day operations. We are committed to fostering a workplace that embraces the unique perspectives and talents of every individual, creating an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered. We warmly welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences.
Application window: 7 March to 6 April 2025. The number of candidates appointed will depend on the availability of projects and organisational needs. We reserve the right to close the application window sooner if we are oversubscribed, so early applications are encouraged. Applications received outside of this window will not be considered.
How to apply: Please send your CV and covering letter to recruitment@ccla.co.uk for consideration. HR will screen the applications during April to identify appropriate candidates, and the outcome will be communicated to applicants by early May. In your covering letter, we encourage you to highlight your strengths, skills, and abilities to help us determine which of our available projects suit you best.
If there is a particular team that you are interested in, let us know in your covering letter, but note that we may not always be able to accommodate this preference. If there is a period that you will not be available, also advise us of this in your covering letter to avoid unnecessary disappointment.
To be considered for an internship, you must have the right to work in the UK.
Finally, we also request that you answer the following questions in 250-300 words each. Your application will not be considered if you do not answer the questions:
- In what ways do you think you could add value to CCLA?
- Tell us about an interesting project, achievement or piece of work you are most proud of and why.
- Describe a passion of yours.
Note: We know that AI is an increasingly useful tool and we’re happy for you to use it to research and help form an answer, but you should not submit wholly AI-generated answers – this will be checked!
About CCLA: CCLA was born out of an aspiration to provide responsibly managed, cost-efficient investments for charities and churches across the UK. From humble beginnings, CCLA has become the largest manager of charitable assets in the UK (as reported in the Fund Management Survey 2023 published by Charity Finance). We aim to continue to grow the business by providing products and services that strive for strong long-term performance, are fairly priced and protect the reputation of our investors.
Our distinctive heritage and approach to managing investments on behalf of not-for-profit organisations led us to extend our investment capabilities to individual investors in 2022. This offering was created in response to growing demand from charity trustees for the kind of authentic ESG (environmental, social and governance) approach for which we are well-known and is an extension of our commitment to continue to support investors of all sizes.
