CCLA is closing the CBF Church of England UK Equity Fund on 30 June 2025. We have reached this outcome after reviewing the fund in consultation with CBF Funds Trustee Limited, which reviews and approves any changes to CBF funds on behalf of church investors. Administrative costs associated with the closure of the fund will be covered by CCLA.
As a part of the closure, with effect from 1 April 2025, it is no longer possible to buy shares in the fund.
Why is the fund closing?
In recent years, the fund has experienced a low level of investor inflows. Market trends indicate that investors now focus more on global equity products, which have the benefit of greater diversification.
As a result, we no longer believe that the fund has future growth prospects. CBF Funds Trustee Limited supports this view.
What are your options?
You have the option to transfer your investment to another CBF Church of England fund or sell your shares. You can do this at any time until 23 June 2025. You should consider these options and decide what is best for your organisation. We are happy to answer questions you may have, but we are not able to advise you on what action you should take.
What happens if I do not take action?
If we do not receive an instruction from you by 11.59am on 23 June 2025, we will redeem your investment in full when the fund closes on 30 June 2025. We will send the proceeds to your nominated bank account, in accordance with the Scheme Information.
If you hold income shares, we will pay a final distribution of income in the normal way on 29 August 2025. Please note, if you sell your income shares before 23 June 2025, the proceeds you receive for selling the shares will include income.
Clients invested in the fund will receive a letter outlining the closure in more detail.
